AOP Côtes du Rhône Villages
Description
The wine displays a ruby hue with purple tints. It releases generous aromas of berries and spice. This harmonious combination is complemented by a few notes of garrigue scrubland flowers. The texture of this wine is pleasant, well-structured and round on the palate. The tannins are soft and provide a lovely fruity persistence.
Terroir & Winemaking
Located to the east of the town of Orange, the Plan de Dieu terroir is a vast alluvial terrace formed like an interland between the Aigues and Ouvèze rivers. It is surmounted by quaternary limestone pebbles. These deposits lie alternately on blue clay and sandstone safres. Plan de Dieu’s complete exposure to the Mistral wind ensures the vineyards remain in excellent health. The optimal amount of sunshine allows the grapes to reach perfect ripeness.
Syrah and Grenache are vinified in a traditional temperature-controlled manner. The two-week maceration period creates an attractive fruit with soft tannins.
