History
Élégance is the story of a vision that inspired the creation of the Joseph Castan wine company in 2007. The first range to be created, it embodies the DNA of our expertise in bringing out the essence and depth of each grape variety in a modern, refined interpretation. It reflects our meticulous craftsmanship, where every detail is carefully considered to create a timeless and harmonious drinking experience.
Terroir
It is here, in the heart of the Languedoc region that the vines from which the Elégance Réserve is derived express their most typical character. The Cabernet Sauvignon thrives in the vineyard’s clay-limestone soil, while the Syrah prefers the stony soils. Together, they form a harmonious marriage.
Winemaking
A plot selection is carried out in the vineyards to select the finest grapes. They undergo a traditional vinification with a two-week maceration. Fermentation is kept to below 28°C. The carefully selected yeasts lend the wine softness
and smoothness. The wine is then aged (in oak) to obtain greater complexity.
