Wine, a family history
A family history
In 1907, Joseph Castan was a wine producer in the small Languedoc village of Lansargues. Throughout his life as a winemaker, he received numerous awards and medals attesting to the quality of the wines he produced. Wine was his passion and he put all his energy into producing it.
A century later, in 2007, his great grandson Vianney Castan, who shares the same passion for wine, founded his own wine trading company, Joseph Castan Fine Wine. Within just a few years, Joseph Castan Fine Wine had earned a reputation on the international market as an expert in wines from the South of France.
The love of wine is a shared passion
Vins de Pays, Vins de France, Appellations d’Origine: we ensure that the Joseph Castan signature is a guarantee of excellence and quality for all of our wines. We therefore have partnerships with over 30 domaines and châteaux from the South of France, each with their own unique style and identity.
This is a great opportunity for us to introduce, or re-introduce, our clients to high quality yet little known or rare wines as well as lesser known varietals such as a 100% Carignan. It has also enabled us to promote the wines, domaines, appellations and people dear to us and introduce them to new consumers.
We are passionate about our terroir and the wines it produces and therefore work exclusively with partners who share our passion and beliefs. Our wines are produced with respect for tradition yet with a mindset that is open to innovation, modernity and the use of the best techniques which allow us to produce such exceptional wines.
Wines to be enjoyed by all
We also want to share our passion with you. Our goal is to meet consumer demands for high quality yet easy-to- drink wines that can be enjoyed in their youth – wines for pleasure! Our wines are very accessible and can be enjoyed by wine novices and experts alike.
We therefore offer a range of wines to suit all tastes and occasions, from simple yet pleasant everyday wines, to superb little finds for a memorable drinking experience, and even prestigious, fine wines for special occasions.
